After 25 years making news, yesterday December, 16 Lawrence Harvey Zeiger, better known as “Larry” King, leaves the world of the information. “It’s the end of an era, ” CNN said in its official website. Writer, journalist and one of the premier broadcast interviewers in U.S. said goodbye to his nightly interview program on CNN called Larry King Live (beginning in 1985), one of the most durable talk show on U.S. television.
Larry King have interviewed over 30,000 people during his career including characters like Marlon Brando, Margaret Thatcher, Mark Felt (“Deepthroat”), Vladimir Putin and all U.S. presidents. King defines himself as an interviewer, which makes a serious analysis of what an interview is: “ It’s basically who, what, where, when, and why… It comes down to an interviewer is an interviewer”, said King. One of the great communication professionals has left us more than just information. He has taught us one way, guidelines to become news anchors.
